, and ELT-RedGreen
These tuners listen to your string, and tells you what note it is, and whether it is sharp, flat, or right on. They work great on guitars, too. The Strumstick is not hard to tune by ear, but electronic tuners are a great help in noisy environments, or if you are just starting. We have tested many, and these two are our favorites. They both work great; the classic Model ELT has a steady green backlight and has become a favorite of many musicians of all kinds. The new Model ELT-RedGreen changes backlight color from red to green when you get the note right on, a nice visual cue (especially for beginners)

Electronic tuners can actually help you learn to tune if you listen closely while tuning, instead of just watching the display. The tuner will help you get used to hearing the sound of the strings in their correct pitch relationship. These are chromatic (all notes) tuners, so you can use it to tune any instrument (back away from that Steinway piano, you over there.....). $35.00
