Alto Strumstick

Shorter than the Standard, tuned to C. Mandolin-like sound. Rosette soundhole. 24" long.The Alto was designed for a high, mandolin like sound. Essentially it is a Standard Strumstick that starts at the third fret. THIS IS NOT A CHILDRENS MODEL, THE STANDARD STRUMSTICK IS ALREADY IDEAL FOR CHILDREN. The Alto was designed as a second or third Strumstick, to broaden the range of keys and tonal possibilities.

Three stringsPlays in key of C (tuned C G C) like a Standard Strumstick played at the third fret. Can also be tuned to B-flat or A (A E A)

It has a very bright, high pitched sound, a lot like a mandolin (but without the mandolin's paired strings). Remember it is diatonic in key of C, not chromatic like a mandolin. 24 1/4 X 4 X 1 Diatonic scale (no wrong notes), plus flatted seventh.Padouk body, spruce soundboard, maple back, lasercut soundhole inlay included. Comes with instruction tape, book, songbook, pick, and adjustable strap. IMPORTANT NOTE: The instruction tape is played using a Standard Strumstick, not an Alto and DOES NOT give you notes to tune this model.
